Gateway to Access Resources (GAR) is a registered Colorado non-profit corporation with status 501(c)(3) approval by the IRS. All contributions to GAR are tax deductable under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Our mission is to help persons with disabilities develop the skills and resources that will allow them to be successful in the job market. With this goal in mind, we offer a suite of programs including:
- Job Clubs
- Job Development and Placement
- Individual Job Seeking Skills Sessions
- Employer Training
- Adaptive Technology Training
How Can We Help
Job Clubs help by providing preparation training (resume assessment, interviewing skills, etc) , peer support, employee contacts, and employment search resources to those seeking to enter, re-enter, or advance in the employment market.
Individual Job Seeking Skills training consists of one-on-one work with a vocational counselor to assist in approaching employers, resume building, applying for jobs, and developing effective interviewing techniques.
Employer Vocational Counseling includes working hiring managers and HR departments to understand and recruit individuals with disabilities to fill positions. People with disabilities bring a lot to the table and employers can benefit by tapping into this resource pool.
Adaptive Technology provides the resources that some individuals need to be fully-productive employees. Starting off on the right foot with adequate training and the right tool for the job is an investment that will immediately return value. We offer expert help in several adaptive technologies as well as accessible information design.
